Wound filter cartridge for 5" water filter. The cartridge is made of polypropylene yarns ensuring surface filtration.
Wound filter cartridges are used for pre-filtration or intermediate filtration. They are made by winding a food-grade synthetic material, such as polypropylene. The 5-micron filtration is achieved thanks to this cross-wound filament, which is several millimeters thick.
They therefore retain impurities larger than 25 microns suspended in your drinking water: sand, rust, pollen, dust, sediment, etc. These cartridges offer better filtration performance than smooth cartridges because the filtration occurs at a greater depth. Advantages of the 25-micron wound cartridge: - Often used as a pre-filter to retain all impurities as small as 5 microns.
