Victron Charger Phoenix 24/25 (2+1 Outputs)120-240V
4-stage adaptive charging algorithm: bulk, absorption, float, standby. Two nominal power outputs and one 4 A output. Universal input 90-265 V, 50/60 Hz. The Phoenix charger incorporates an adaptive battery management system, controlled by a microprocessor and which can be configured according to the different types of battery. The "adaptive" function automatically optimizes the charging process according to the use made of the battery.
The Phoenix charger incorporates an "adaptive" battery management system, controlled by a microprocessor, which can be configured according to the different types of battery. The "adaptive" function automatically optimizes the charging process according to the use made of it. During superficial discharges of the battery (for example in the case of a boat connected to the shore), the absorption time is shortened to avoid overcharging the battery. After a deep discharge the absorption charge time is automatically increased to ensure a full battery recharge.
Sleep mode is triggered when the battery has not been used for 24 hours. In sleep mode, the float voltage is reduced to 2.2V/cell (13.2V for a 12V battery) to minimize gassing and corrosion of the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is raised to the absorption level to “equalize” the battery. This feature prevents electrolyte stratification and sulfation, major causes of premature battery aging.
If high charge power is combined with high absorption voltage to rapidly recharge a battery, the Phoenix charger prevents deterioration from excessive gassing by automatically limiting the voltage progression, as soon as the gassing voltage has been reached
Each Phoenix charger comes with an external battery temperature sensor. When connected, the charging voltage automatically decreases with increasing battery temperature. This function is particularly recommended for sealed batteries and/or when significant temperature fluctuations may occur. To compensate for the loss of voltage due to the resistance of the cables, the Phoenix chargers are delivered with a voltage sensor allowing to always distribute a correct charging voltage to the battery.
All Phoenix chargers can communicate with a computer through their RS 485 communications port. Thanks to our VEConfigure software, available for free download from our website www.victronenergy.com and the MK3-USB data link (see accessories) , all parameters of converters can be customized.
