The Pioneer TS-MR1640 in-wall speakers are a particularly attractive solution for on-board marine installations and can also be used in a motor vehicle, under a patio or around a swimming pool. Each of their components has been designed for optimized resistance to extreme conditions, humidity and UV rays.
The Pioneer TS-MR1640 car speakers adopt a water-repellent IMPP composite cone woofer that is resistant to seawater, humidity and extreme heat. The basket is reinforced with styrene-acrylonitrile-elastomer (AES) glass fibers, a design that isolates the voice coil so as not to disturb the navigation instruments. The Pioneer TS-MR1640 car speakers have a grille that is also treated with AES that resists yellowing caused by sunlight. The gold-plated terminals are completely protected from corrosion and ensure optimal transfer of the audio signal. In terms of sound performance, the Pioneer TS-MR1640 car speakers have a frequency response that extends from 30 Hz to 30 kHz with a nominal power handling capacity of 30 watts (160 watts max.), a nominal impedance of 4 ohms and a sensitivity of 91 dB.
A waterproof and robust design, good acoustic performance and a neat finish make the Pioneer TS-MR1640 speakers a product particularly suitable for integration on a boat. They are also perfect for installation in a humid room (bathroom, sauna), under a patio or around a swimming pool.
