The S2009 combines a CHIRP-compatible sonar with a 9-inch portrait screen for displaying maximum vertical data and is operated via an intuitive wired remote control for reliable control in all situations. This dedicated echo sounder integrates seamlessly with other Simrad displays, while offering long-range boat captains and sport fishers the reliability of a stand-alone sonar platform.

Built-in CHIRP echosounder
The S2000 Series displays feature an integrated echosounder module with CHIRP technology to provide better resolution, improved target separation and greater image clarity than a traditional sonar. Simrad technology makes it possible to take advantage of CHIRP technology not only from specific CHIRP probes, but also from traditional single frequency probes. This gives you a cost-effective upgrade to CHIRP technology by installing an S2000 Series sonar for use with your existing transducer. Installation is simple with a Plug & Play port for Simrad and Airmar transducers featuring seven-pin blue connectors and a range of optional adapters allowing easy refit of other transducer types.

9-inch portrait screen
The S2009 optimizes screen size when mounting space is limited, with a 9-inch screen ideal for center consoles. The vertical orientation of the screen makes it possible to display the water column with a high level of detail and to easily distinguish the echoes of isolated fish. Other key features are also offered. Direct menu access side keys provide intuitive control of on-screen menu options and access to key features and settings with a single button. With reliable, durable operation and responsive tactile response, the S2009's large buttons are suitable for use in heavy swell conditions, when traveling at high speeds or with wet or gloved hands.

Networking and extension
It's easy to share sonar data with other Simrad displays via an Ethernet network. S2000 series fishfinders can also be used as dedicated displays for the built-in sonar module on Ethernet-connected Simrad multifunction displays, freeing up your primary display for other uses such as navigation or radar. Other units can be networked using NMEA 2000® and NMEA 0183® connectivity, providing additional functionality such as marking a waypoint on your chartplotter from the sonar history display to go to an interesting area again.
