On-board installations usually include at least two independent batteries that supply equipment with 12 or 24 V. These batteries require independent charging with reliable isolators or battery couplers.
Mastervolt offers several smart solutions:
- Load distributors that divide the load current with minimum energy loss.
- The Charge Mate to connect and/or disconnect two batteries.
- The Battery Watch to monitor the state of your batteries (also usable as a main switch).
The Battery Mate is best suited for charging multiple batteries , possibly with various brands of alternators
Since BI load balancers are conventional diode balancers, the Battery Mate technology incorporates electronics and includes MOSFETS (transistors). These components compensate for voltage drop and ensure charging continues at the correct voltage level, even with multiple battery banks.
The Battery Mate is compatible with all types of charger/alternator, whether for a new system or an existing system. Since voltage loss between the alternator and the battery is negligible, the Battery Mate outperforms conventional splitters. It ensures a fast and complete charge of your batteries without necessary adjustment on the alternator.
The Battery Mate is best suited for charging multiple batteries, possibly with various brands of alternators, even if their charging voltage cannot be adjusted. It can charge two or three batteries with very high efficiency and without voltage loss.
The 1602/1603 models are suitable for alternators with a maximum charge current of 160 amps, Mastervolt's Battery Mate is ideal for alternators with a maximum charge current of 250 amps.

Completely corrosion resistant material with aluminum heat sink, electronic components are encapsulated in synthetic materials.
