In normal operation, the reverse osmosis membrane becomes clogged with mineral and organic deposits, which accumulate until they cause a drop in the quantity and quality of the water produced. The membrane must be cleaned whenever the quantity or quality of the water produced drifts excessively.

Azure Boat Services recommends this complete maintenance kit for cleaning the membranes of your Aqua-Base watermaker. For complete membrane maintenance, this kit includes an alkaline cleaning solution as well as an acidic cleaning solution. For safe use, this kit contains a pair of gloves as well as a guide including a technical note for the maintenance of the membranes of your machine.

Clogged membranes are normally cleaned after 1,000 hours of operation. For more information on the maintenance of your water desalination device, we invite you to refer to the valve handling guide specific to each device. Membrane cleaning occurs when fouling of the membranes caused by the deposition of minerals and organics is the reason for a significant drop in the quantity and quality of the water produced. Before cleaning the membranes of your device, we invite you to check that the drop in the flow rate of the water produced is indeed caused by clogging of the membranes.
